lyrics

Somewhere in the aftermath / they stole your face from a photograph, / your 15 minutes came at last / but they won’t say your name. // Some say love is paradise, / blue water, blue sky / & golden sand where you lie, / but that’s not where you’ve been. // You're always standing / at the deep end looking in, / don’t hold your breath now, / don’t forget how to swim. // There’s a river flowing through you tonight / & some place there’s a sea. // Was it a cry in the wilderness? / Was it the child you lost? / Did the light come flooding in? / All the black years wash away then? // You're always standing / at the deep end looking in, / don’t hold your breath now, / don’t forget how to swim. // There’s a river flowing through you tonight / & some place there’s a sea. // Somewhere in the aftermath / close the shades & pour a glass, / this time will be the last / but there's always one more debt to pay. // Some say love is paradise, / well that's a hell of a price. / Did you find what you needed, / did you make it to the other side? // You're always standing / at the deep end looking in, / don’t hold your breath now, / don’t forget how to swim. // There’s a river flowing through you tonight / & some place there’s a sea.
